Paris, France - August 21, 2007
Sylvie Vartan recorded her first song Panne d’Essence (Out of Gas) when she was only 16 years old and it became a big hit in France during the summer of 1961. Four decades later, she is still going strong: On July 2, 2007, her new CD Nouvelle Vague (New Wave) was released. I finally received this French import after ordering it from www.amazon.com and waited a month and a half before I received it! There is a video on You Tube of Sylvie Vartan singing Le Temps De L’Amour (The Time For Love), which is the third track on this CD. Although Sylvie Vartan sings most of her songs in French, on this CD, she does sings three songs in English including Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones, Drive My Car by The Beatles and I’m A Believer by The Monkees.
